The Utsav Education and Cultural Society is gearing up to present the eighteenth edition of their production, “Saare Jahan se Achchha,” in honor of India’s Independence Day. The event is scheduled to take place on August 9 and August 10, 2023, at Stein Auditorium in India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

This grand production, “Khud Mein Kabir, Kabir Mein Hum,” is a musical dance drama that beautifully commemorates India’s struggle for freedom. Alongside this, captivating dance forms like Odissi and Mohiniyattam will be performed by highly skilled and established artists, paying tribute to the nation’s martyrs and achievers.

Founder-President Ranjana Gauhar, a recipient of the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, and Utsav, a talented artist, are leading the efforts to make this event a magnificent spectacle for the people of Delhi.

Ranjana Gauhar expressed her gratitude for serving the Indian Arts and Cultural realm for 35 years through Utsav.

She highlighted the significance of providing a platform for senior and established dancers to pay homage to the real heroes of the nation.

“Over the years, the festival has garnered immense appreciation  in Delhi, featuring talented artists from various genres of Indian classical dance, both from India and abroad,” Gauhar told Patriot.

Ranjana Gauhar is hopeful that their efforts will contribute to preserving the rich legacy of Indian Heritage for generations to come.

The event schedule includes two days of performances. On August 9, Ranjana Gauhar will present the philosophy of Sant Kabir in her Musical Dance Drama “Khud Mein Kabir, Kabir Mein Hum,” featuring choreography and direction by Ranjana herself, along with melodious compositions by Saroj Mohanty.

On August 10, the celebrations continue with an enchanting Odissi Dance by Vinod Kevin Bachan, a recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puruskar and a disciple of Guru Ranjana Gauhar.

The evening will further be graced by a graceful performance of Mohiniyattam by Jayaprabha Menon, a Kerala Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee, and her disciples. The festivities will conclude with a suave presentation of Odissi by Gurus Ashok and Bandita Goshal, and their disciples from Bhubaneswar.
