Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra will present its annual Kendra Dance Festival later this month, featuring three landmark productions — Meera, Parikrama, and Karna. The performances are scheduled to take place on May 25, 27, and 29, 2025, at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi.
Directed and produced by Padmashri Shobha Deepak Singh, Chairperson of the Kendra, the festival brings together classical dance, martial arts, and folk traditions to explore timeless themes of devotion, identity, and spiritual renewal.
The festival will open on Sunday, May 25 with Meera, a production that traces the life and spiritual journey of the poet-saint Meera Bai. Told through evocative Rajasthani and Gujarati folk movements, the performance draws on the research of folklorist Komal Kothari and celebrates Meera’s fearless devotion and inner strength.
On Tuesday, May 27, Parikrama will take the stage. Choreographed in the dynamic styles of Mayurbhanj Chhau and Kalaripayattu, the production reflects on the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Inspired by the Panch Tattvas and the Padma Purana, the performance invites audiences into a meditative and elemental experience.
The festival will conclude on Thursday, May 29 with Karna, a powerful retelling of the life of one of the Mahabharata’s most compelling figures. Based on Rashmirathi by national poet Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’, the performance explores Karna’s moral struggles and deep sense of duty through vigorous choreography drawn from Chhau and Kalaripayattu.

All performances will run from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Kamani Auditorium. Tickets, priced from Rs 300 to Rs 2,500, are available through BookMyShow, at the venue, and at the Kendra office.
