CMF, the audio-focused sub-brand of tech startup Nothing, has expanded its true wireless stereo (TWS) range in India with the launch of two new models — the CMF Buds 2 and CMF Buds 2 Plus. After a limited early access release earlier this week, both earbuds are now officially on open sale across online and offline platforms.
First announced in April alongside the already-available Buds 2a, these two new models round out CMF’s latest TWS lineup. Positioned in the budget to mid-range segment, the Buds 2 series is aimed at users who want high-performance audio features without spending a fortune.
Distinctive specs, shared DNA
While both models share a striking design language and core features, they cater to slightly different user preferences.
The CMF Buds 2 are equipped with 11mm dynamic drivers tuned using Dirac Opteo, a technology aimed at enhancing audio clarity and soundstage. Also included are N52 magnets for stronger audio output, Spatial Audio Effect, and Ultra Bass Technology 2.0, which promises deeper low-end performance. For gamers and streamers, there’s also a low-latency mode for synchronised audio.
Where the Buds 2 offer a strong foundation, the CMF Buds 2 Plus build upon it. They feature 12mm LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) drivers, support Hi-Res Wireless Audio, and are certified for LDAC codec, ensuring higher fidelity music streaming. A standout feature is the Smart Adaptive Hybrid ANC, capable of cancelling up to 50dB of background noise by adjusting in real-time based on the user’s environment.
Both models include six HD microphones and are backed by Clear Voice Technology 3.0 and Wind Noise Reduction 3.0, aimed at improving call quality even in noisy surroundings. There’s also support for Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device pairing, touch controls, customisable EQ settings, and access to ChatGPT through the Nothing X app — a rare addition in this price bracket.
Battery and durability
When it comes to battery life, the CMF Buds 2 claim up to 13.5 hours of continuous playback and up to 55 hours with the charging case. The Buds 2 Plus slightly edge ahead with 14 hours of use on a single charge and a total of 61.5 hours including the case. Both earbuds come with an IP55 rating, making them resistant to dust and water splashes — a useful touch for fitness enthusiasts or commuters.
Price and availability
The CMF Buds 2 are priced at ₹2,699 and are available in Dark Grey, Light Green, and Orange colour options. The CMF Buds 2 Plus, which cost ₹3,299, come in Blue and Light Grey variants.
Both models can now be purchased via Flipkart, Myntra, Croma, Vijay Sales, Flipkart Minutes, and select offline retail stores across India.
