Hyundai Exter CNG: With the rising popularity of CNG vehicles among cost-conscious buyers, Hyundai has expanded its Exter line-up with a new, more budget-friendly CNG variant. Designed for those seeking a high fuel range at low running costs, the new variant also features a dual-cylinder layout similar to the Tata Punch CNG, allowing for improved boot space while maintaining fuel efficiency.
New Entry-Level CNG Model Launched
Previously, the Exter CNG range began with the mid-level S trim. Now, Hyundai has introduced a more accessible variant based on the base Ex trim, priced at Rs 7.51 lakh (ex-showroom). This new offering is approximately Rs 1 lakh cheaper than the earlier entry point for CNG models, making the Exter even more appealing to a wider customer base.

Before this launch, the CNG version was limited to the S, SX, and SX Knight trims. With the new Ex variant, Hyundai aims to offer greater value in the compact SUV segment, positioning it as a strong competitor to rivals like the Tata Punch CNG.
Noteworthy Features
Despite being an entry-level trim, the new Exter HY-CNG variant comes equipped with several safety and convenience features. These include six airbags, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, and seatbelt reminders. It also features a 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display in the instrument cluster and offers practical amenities like keyless entry.
Performance & Efficiency
Powering the Exter HY-CNG is a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine that delivers 68 bhp and 95.2 Nm of torque in CNG mode. The variant is available exclusively with a manual transmission and offers an impressive mileage of 27.1 km/kg, making it an economical choice for daily commutes.
