Vivo has launched the Vivo V50 in India, priced under Rs 40,000. This new model is the successor to the Vivo V40, which debuted just five months ago. While the Vivo V50 retains many of the specifications from its predecessor, it comes with several significant upgrades. The phone is set to compete with top devices such as the OnePlus 12R, iQOO Neo 9 Pro, and more.
The Vivo V50 is available in two variants: the 128GB storage model, priced at Rs 34,999, and the 256GB storage model, priced at Rs 36,999. Pre-orders are already open, and the first sale is scheduled for February 25. It will be available for purchase through Flipkart, Vivo exclusive stores, and other retail outlets. Launch offers include an instant Rs 2,000 discount on HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and SBI Bank credit card transactions, along with an option for up to six months of no-cost EMI.
Specifications and features
The Vivo V50 inherits several features from the V40, including the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. It is equipped with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The dual rear camera setup remains the same with two 50-megapixel sensors, though Vivo claims the sensors are different from the V40’s. For selfies, the Vivo V50 sports a 50-megapixel front camera. It features a 6.78-inch quad-curved FHD+ display that refreshes at 120Hz, identical to the V40.
The design of the Vivo V50 follows the same blueprint as its predecessor but introduces fresh colour options, including Titanium Grey, Rose Red, and Starry Night. It has a glass back panel and a slimmer profile, with a thickness of just 7.39mm and a weight of 199g.

One of the key upgrades is the larger 6,000mAh battery, an improvement over the 5,500mAh battery in the V40. It also supports faster 90W charging, up from 80W in the previous model. In addition, the Vivo V50 is IP68 and IP69-rated, offering better protection against water submersion, a feature typically seen in ultra-premium smartphones.
Vivo has introduced a range of AI-powered features in the V50, including Circle to Search, AI Transcript, and AI Live Call Translation. The company also claims that the camera experience has been further enhanced, promising a superior photography experience compared to the V40.
