Vivo has officially announced that its upcoming mid-range smartphone, the Vivo V50, will launch in India on February 17, 2025. The company has begun teasing key features of the device, focusing on its advanced camera capabilities and AI-powered functionalities.
Enhanced camera features
Vivo’s V series has been known for its photography-focused smartphones, and the V50 aims to set new benchmarks in this segment. According to details revealed on the Vivo India website, the smartphone will feature a dual-camera setup with a 50MP ZEISS OIS main camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Additionally, it will offer ZEISS Portrait and ZEISS Bokeh effects with various modes, including landscape and street photography.

For selfie enthusiasts, the Vivo V50 will come equipped with a 50MP ZEISS front-facing camera. The company is also introducing wedding-specific photography features, such as Colour-Adaptive Border and Wedding Portrait Studio. To enhance night photography, the device will include an Aura light, while AI 3D Studio Lighting 2.0 is expected to improve portrait shots in various lighting conditions.
AI-powered enhancements
Beyond photography, the Vivo V50 will incorporate several AI-powered features aimed at improving user experience. These include Circle to Search, Transcript Assist, Live Call Translation, and Google Gemini, offering seamless AI chatbot integration. The addition of these features marks a significant move by Vivo to bring flagship-level AI capabilities to its mid-range lineup.
Durability and build quality
Vivo has also highlighted the durability of the V50, stating that it will feature Diamond Shield glass protection. The smartphone has received IP68 and IP69 ratings, making it resistant to dust and water.
While the company has teased camera, AI, and durability features, details regarding display size, battery life, and processor specifications are yet to be revealed. These are expected to be disclosed at the official launch event on February 17.
