More than 75 per cent of the Delhi government’s paperwork has shifted to an online e-Office platform covering 177 departments and around 15,700 active users in the last year.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said in a statement that one year of e-Office implementation has reduced dependence on paper files and enhanced transparency in governance.

Since April 13, 2026, 120 of the 132 government departments, about 91 per cent, have been using e-Office regularly. Similarly, 36 of the 55 public sector undertakings, boards, corporations, commissions, committees, autonomous and local bodies, or about 65.5 per cent, are using the system, the Delhi CMO said in a statement.

Among universities, colleges and other educational institutions, 21 out of 48 institutions, or about 43.8 per cent, have adopted e-Office. Overall, 177 of the 235 departments and offices, about 75.3 per cent, are now regularly carrying out official work through the e-Office system.

The e-Office platform is an open software architecture enabling intra- and inter-departmental file movement for a large number of users.

Gupta said that the Delhi Government’s e-Office system will complete one year on July 1.

As of March 8, 2025, 5,005 officers and employees were using e-Office for online file processing and official work. By June 27, 2026, the number had risen to 15,748 officers and employees.

The Delhi government has developed the e-Office system under three separate categories. The first is meant exclusively for government departments, the second for public sector undertakings, boards, corporations, commissions, committees, autonomous bodies and local bodies, and the third for universities, colleges and other educational institutions.

The use of e-Office was made mandatory across all Delhi government departments from July 1, 2025. At present, all 132 government departments are part of the system, with 11,940 active users.

The chief minister informed that between July 1, 2025 and April 12, 2026, government departments processed 1,14,603 e-files and 7,14,091 e-receipts.

Following the launch of the new e-Office system, nearly 23,767 e-files and 1.53 lakh e-receipts were processed between April 13, 2026 and June 27, 2026 alone.
