Officials announced on Monday that over 650 flats have been reserved through a housing scheme initiated by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on June 30.
Within a few hours of the booking opening on Monday, all 2-BHK flats in Dwarka were completely sold out, while Narela and Rohini witnessed significant public demand.
Since the booking window opened on the DDA’s website at 12 noon on Monday, the website has received more than 1.3 million hits, according to the evening update.
On June 30, the DDA introduced a housing scheme featuring 5,500 flats of various categories at different locations in Delhi, using a first-come, first-serve (FCFS) basis.
The booking of flats started at 12 noon on July 10 and has received a positive response from the public.
By 5:30 pm, the website had recorded over 1.1 million hits, which later increased to over 1.7 million hits by late night, as reported by a senior official.
As of 8:30 pm, more than 650 flats had been booked, including 300 flats in Rohini, over 200 flats in Narela, and all 50 flats in Dwarka. Encouraging responses were also received for the other locations such as Jasola, Siraspur, and Loknayak Puram.
The scheme offers 1-BHK flats in Narela, Siraspur, Rohini, and Loknayak Puram, 2-BHK flats in Narela and Dwarka, and 3-BHK flats in Jasola.
Officials stated that the DDA will issue the demand-cum-allotment letters online within 24 hours to all those who have booked the flats.
Registration and booking for the scheme are currently underway, and people can book flats of their choice through the DDA’s website.
Due to the heavy traffic on the DDA website during the first six hours, with over 1.1 million hits since the opening of the booking in FCFS phase-IV, the DDA is increasing server capacity to accommodate the surge in traffic and assist the general public with the flat booking process.
