Contemporary artist Nikita Agarwal’s solo exhibition explores colour, emotion and human connection, with proceeds supporting the education and welfare of underprivileged girls

Alchemy of Colors, a solo exhibition by contemporary artist Nikita Agarwal, will be held at the Main Art Gallery, Bikaner House, from August 19 to 23. The exhibition brings together a vibrant body of paintings exploring colour as a language of emotion, hope and human connection.

Known for her expressive palette and distinctive palette-knife technique, Agarwal uses colour as a medium of storytelling, drawing inspiration from nature, travel, personal experiences and the changing rhythms of life. Her works move beyond representation, combining layered textures, movement and luminous surfaces to explore themes of memory, resilience and the beauty of everyday moments.

The exhibition reflects Agarwal’s belief in the transformative and healing power of colour. Rather than simply depicting reality, her paintings seek to evoke emotions and create immersive visual experiences, inviting viewers to pause, reflect and find their own narratives within the works.

Alchemy of Colors also carries a social purpose, with Agarwal committing the proceeds from the exhibition towards the education and welfare of underprivileged girls. The initiative seeks to connect artistic expression with educational opportunities and social empowerment.

Agarwal’s work has received recognition on national and international platforms, including a feature in Forbes India – Hidden Talents. She has also been selected by the Bombay Art Society, while her practice has been noted for its expressive visual language, vibrant colour palette and evolving artistic vocabulary. Her exhibitions and projects have engaged collectors and audiences in India and abroad.

Through bold compositions and richly textured surfaces, Alchemy of Colors explores the emotional possibilities of colour while bringing together creativity, personal expression and a commitment to a social cause.
