Sculpt Carve Chisel presents an exhibition capturing the essence of the country’s abundance. India has a rich history of sculptural art from iconic cave sculptures to magnificent statues in temples and other historic monuments

A fundamental deference with sculptural art is that it is in three dimensions in comparison to the two dimensions for paintings. Our worldly existence depends on specific interactions with objects. What an artist wants to convey through the creation of a sculpture defines our interaction with it.

In this show, artists with varied expressions have been showcased. Ramkumar Kannadasan references iconic religious sculptures to create a series apt for today’s times. Ratilal Kansodia plays with basic human emotions to create works in bronze. Ajay Singh Bhadoriya is inspired by the architectural structures around him, creating unique sculptures with a social message. Kanchan Karjee uses the human form with a twist to deliver his message. Shampa Shah uses ceramics to portray what she feels using an everyday object. Shitanshu Maurya experiments with different materials and forms.
