The 15th edition of ‘Kathakar’, the International Storytellers Festival, is back with a fine line-up for Delhiites to gear up for. As the name of the event suggests, the festival will bring fables from the world over to the national capital.
With the advent of winter, festivals have taken over the capital city and this weekend it will be one of storytelling. For lovers of literature and stories, Kathakar is the place to immerse oneself in the fascinating world of fables.
The first day of the event will be graced by Niakk Moorjani, Lillian Rodrigues-Pang, Baatarjav Erdenetsogt, Alim Kamara, Sarah Rundle, Mohit Chauhan. The second day will see the performances of Satpal Wadali and group, Sikandar Khan, Rachna Bisht and Shaguna Gahilote.
On the third and the final day, there will be a shadow puppet play of Kerala by Ramachandra Pulavar and team, Kabir Vani by Prahlad Singh Tipania and group. The event will be concluded by the hit duo Imtiaz Ali and Mohit Chauhan.
In the last edition, music composer Shantanu Moitra enthralled the audience with his segment titled Stories from the Himalayas. Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and singer Mohit Chauhan joined Moitra to talk about how Bollywood weaves the magic of music, mountains and storytelling in the session, Kissey, Kahaniyan aur Dastanney. Durint the riveting conversation, with Chauhan in Kissagoi, Ali had said that stories make him “strong” and the concept of Kathakar is “exhilarating” to him, one that “rejuvenates his soul”.
