Lava Mobiles has introduced its latest budget 5G smartphone—the Lava Shark 5G—in the Indian market. Positioned as the successor to the Lava Shark 4G, which debuted in March, the new model brings upgraded performance, cleaner software, and improved design, all at an accessible price point.
Affordable 5G With Clean Android 15 Experience
The Lava Shark 5G runs on Android 15 out of the box and promises a bloatware-free experience. Powering the device is a Unisoc T765 octa-core chipset, which clocks an AnTuTu score of over 400,000, signalling solid performance for everyday tasks and light gaming. It comes equipped with 4GB of RAM, expandable with an additional 4GB of virtual RAM, and 64GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 1TB via microSD card.
Display, Design, and Camera
Sporting a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 20:9 aspect ratio, the Lava Shark 5G features a modern waterdrop notch design and 2.5D scratch-resistant glass. Its refreshed rear panel houses a 13MP AI-powered dual-camera system with a circular LED flash, while the front has a 5MP selfie shooter. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor adds to its convenience and security.
Battery and Build
The smartphone draws power from a 5,000mAh battery with 10W wired charging (18W supported). Lava claims up to 30 hours of talk time, 340 hours of standby, and over 10 hours of YouTube playback. It also offers IP54-rated protection against dust and splashes, making it durable for everyday use.
