Samsung to unveil Galaxy S25 series on January 22

Samsung has officially announced its next Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22, where the Galaxy S25 series, powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite and featuring Android 15-based One UI 7, will be unveiled

Samsung has officially announced the date for its first flagship smartphone launch event of 2025. The much-anticipated Galaxy Unpacked 2025 is scheduled for January 22, 2025, where the company will unveil the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. The event will take place in San Jose, United States, making it the first physical Unpacked event of the year.

Samsung is expected to launch three smartphones in the Galaxy S25 series: the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. In its announcement, the company hinted at significant advancements in artificial intelligence, describing the next-generation Galaxy AI as more natural and intuitive. Samsung stated, “The next evolution of Galaxy AI is coming, and it’s going to change the way you interact with the world every day.”

The event will be streamed live on Samsung’s official platforms, including Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and the Samsung YouTube channel. The broadcast will begin at 10 AM PT, 1 PM EST, 6 PM GMT, and 7 PM CET. In India, the event can be watched live at 11:30 PM IST.

Pre-Reservations Open in India

In anticipation of the launch, Samsung has begun accepting pre-reservations for the Galaxy S25 series in India through the Samsung India Store. Customers can reserve their spot by paying a token amount of Rs 1,999. As an incentive, Samsung is offering benefits worth Rs 5,000 to those who pre-reserve. The pre-reservation window will remain open until January 22, 2025, or until the formal pre-booking phase begins.

What to Expect from the Galaxy S25 Series

Although Samsung has not disclosed the official specifications of the Galaxy S25 series, industry rumors suggest that the new flagship lineup will include several cutting-edge features and significant upgrades.

The Galaxy S25 series is likely to run on Android 15, paired with Samsung’s latest One UI 6.0 software. Depending on the region, the devices could be powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor or Samsung’s own high-performance Exynos chipset. The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are rumoured to feature AMOLED displays with high refresh rates, potentially exceeding 120Hz. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, on the other hand, is expected to come with a larger, curved AMOLED display offering improved brightness and even higher refresh rates.

The camera systems are also expected to receive significant upgrades. The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are likely to feature triple-camera setups designed to enhance low-light photography and video recording. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumoured to include a revolutionary 200MP primary camera with advanced zoom capabilities and improved AI features for photography.

The devices are expected to come with larger battery capacities and faster charging speeds, potentially exceeding 45W. The overall design of the Galaxy S25 series is anticipated to be more refined, with slimmer bezels and the introduction of new colour options.

With these expected features, the Galaxy S25 series aims to redefine mobile AI and set a new benchmark for flagship smartphones.
