An upcoming exhibition titled Brishti will showcase recent works of abstract artist Jhunu Sarkar. The exhibition will be presented in two series: Razzle Dazzle and Orphic. It revolves around the beauty of the natural world and how it influences our emotions, with each painting capturing a specific moment in time, a fleeting memory, or a mood.
Sarkar is a contemporary Indian artist who specialises in the abstract medium and creates vibrant paintings with multiple hues. The artist’s work explores the relationship between colors, composition, and form to create a visually striking artwork that evokes a sense of joy and beauty.
Her theme revolves around curiosity, innocence, bonding, and depicting the colors of life and the natural beauty of the world.
Her unique style is layering multiple hues to create a sense of depth and energy in her paintings. She uses various techniques to manipulate the paint, including blending, splattering, and dripping, to create an organic flow of colors that mimic the natural world’s beauty.
In her own words, Sarkar describes her painting to represent “rain droplets, during the summer season people crave for rain and my paintings are going to represent a soothing effect in June month as the scorching heat is going to be on peak.
It will take place from June 11-15, 2023 at Convention Foyer, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
