Sweta Das, a self-taught artist from Kolkata, is set to captivate art enthusiasts with her solo exhibition titled “Dynamics”. The exhibition will take place at Convention Foyer, India Habitat Centre from January 29 to February 2, 2024.
“Growing up with the vibrant palette of colors, canvases, and brushes has been a constant source of inspiration for me. Discussions on art and artists for hours on end motivated me to take the plunge and become a full-time artist,” Sweta Das told Patriot.
“I never underwent any formal education in art. My father, who himself is an artist, never insisted on me following the same path. I graduated in Political Science from Scottish Church College, Kolkata, but my heart has always been drawn to modern art,” Sweta explained.
“As an artist, I wish to be part of the global change of creative images and imageries, infusing them with differential insights and swings of energy. For me, dynamic means a constant change, and I always like to explore new dimensions and various aspects of art,” she asserted.
“In every artistic process, I find hope for new things and a wide vision towards life. I don’t see the world as separated from art. Abstract art, with its dynamic approach, is something I truly enjoy and connect with on a personal level,” Sweta expressed passionately.
“In my upcoming artworks, I aim to embrace all subtle movements of nature and the human mindscape. Every line, stroke, and form in my paintings implies their independent story through the expression of art,” she elaborated.
“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time. I believe that my Second Solo Exhibition, titled ‘Dynamic,’ will be successful,” Sweta said.
