MacBook Air M4: Features and Specifications

The new MacBook Air with M4 offers twice the performance of the M1 model, while its Neural Engine is three times faster, according to Apple. A key improvement is support for two 6K external displays when the laptop’s lid is open. The overall design remains unchanged, but Apple has introduced a new “Sky Blue” colour option, joining the existing Midnight, Starlight, and Silver finishes.

Both the 13-inch and 15-inch versions come with Liquid Retina displays, featuring slim bezels and a 12MP Centre Stage front camera within a notch. The screen supports True Tone and reaches a peak brightness of 500 nits.

In terms of connectivity, the MacBook Air includes two Thunderbolt ports, a headphone jack, and MagSafe charging, along with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Battery life remains consistent with the previous model, offering up to 18 hours on a single charge.

The laptop retains the Magic Keyboard with a full-height function row and Touch ID, as well as a Force Touch trackpad. Audio features include a four-speaker system with spatial audio support and a three-microphone array for enhanced voice clarity.

Mac Studio 2025: Performance and Connectivity

The new Mac Studio with M4 Max is said to be up to 3.5 times faster than the M1 Max model, while the M3 Ultra variant delivers 2.6 times the speed of the M1 Ultra version. Apple highlights that the M3 Ultra features the highest number of CPU cores ever in a Mac, alongside an increased GPU core count and over 800GB/s of unified memory bandwidth. The M3 Ultra model starts with 96GB of unified memory, which can be configured up to 512GB—the highest unified memory ever in a personal computer—alongside up to 16TB of SSD storage.

The 2025 Mac Studio refresh includes two front-facing Thunderbolt 5 ports and an SDXC card slot, while the rear panel houses four Thunderbolt 5 ports, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, a 10Gb Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The M4 Max variant retains most of these features but swaps the front Thunderbolt 5 ports for two USB Type-C ports.

With these latest updates, Apple continues to push the boundaries of performance and efficiency in its Mac lineup, catering to both casual users and professionals needing high-performance computing.
