Lava International Limited has announced the launch of two new budget smartphones under its Storm Series—Storm Play and Storm Lite—targeted at younger consumers and first-time smartphone buyers.
Both devices will be available exclusively on Amazon. The Storm Play is priced at Rs 9,999 and will go on sale from 19 June, while the Storm Lite, priced at Rs 7,999, will be available from June 24.
The Storm Play debuts as the world’s first smartphone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 processor. It is also the first in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment to feature LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Key specifications include a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP dual rear camera with a Sony IMX752 sensor, an 8MP front camera, and a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
It is equipped with 6GB RAM, virtually expandable by another 6GB, and 128GB of internal storage. The phone runs on Android 15 and promises a bloatware- and ad-free experience. Lava has confirmed one major Android upgrade and two years of security updates for the device.
The Storm Lite, meanwhile, becomes the first Indian smartphone under Rs 8,000 to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset. It features a 6.75-inch HD+ screen, a 50MP Sony IMX752 rear camera, and a 5MP front camera. It records an AnTuTu benchmark score of over 410,000, aimed at delivering reliable everyday performance.

Available in 64GB or 128GB storage variants with 4GB RAM, expandable by another 4GB virtually, the Storm Lite also runs on Android 15. It has a 5000mAh battery, supports 15W Type-C charging, and includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor along with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
