For centuries, the monsoon season has served as a bountiful source of inspiration to the finest music minds of Indian classical music. It has created several soulful ragas like Malhar, Des, Megharanjani, Varunapriya and others. The ragas explore the varying moods associated with rains and are usually performed during the monsoon months. Built on this very essence, Banyan Tree envisioned ‘Barkha Ritu’ – developing a grand celebration of music that encapsulates the emotions that rains evoke in us, creating a deeply moving atmosphere. A host of renowned artists will be performing at this festival, who will present their creative renditions of the monsoon ragas.
When: 7 August, 6 pm
